April 2025 – I am proud to share that Hada, one of the most well-known Southern Mongolian voices of resistance, has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.
For decades, Hada has spoken up for our people — for our language, our culture, our land, and our right to exist as Mongolians. He helped found the Southern Mongolian Democratic Alliance and was arrested by Chinese authorities in 1995 for his peaceful activism. Since then, he has spent more than 30 years in prison or under house arrest.
Even when he was silenced, his message never stopped. Hada stood for us when it was dangerous to speak. His courage has given strength to many Mongolians, both in Southern Mongolia and beyond.
This nomination is not only about one man — it is about all of us. It is a recognition of our struggle, our identity, and our demand to be heard. It is a reminder to the world that we are still here.
I hope the world learns more about who Hada is — and why Southern Mongolians continue to fight for our dignity and freedom.
